Essential Camping Gear
Camping is a wonderful way to get away from it all, your chance to relax and recharge in natural surroundings. If you are planning on spending time in the great outdoors, you'll want to consider the camping gear you will need for a safe and comfortable holiday.
Household Items
- Make sure to bring extra jackets and sweaters in case of sudden storms or inclement weather.
- Include sturdy walking shoes or hiking boots so that you will be equipped for sightseeing and wilderness treks.
- Pack sleeping bags, pillows, and extra blankets.
- Bring a kettle, pots, frying pans, cutlery, dishes, and cooking utensils. (Don't forget those washing up bits aswell, it won't get you out of doing the washing up!)
- Include a cooler for food and drink items that need to be stored at cooler temperatures. Some campsites may have freezing facilities, if so you can get your freezer boxes frozen in order to keep any foods chilled. Not all campsites have this facility, so check beforehand.
- Pack necessary toiletry items such as: Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Razor, Soap, Haircare products.
Portable Folding
Folding chairs should be part and parcel of your camping gear. Portable chairs come in compact cases, can be easily assembled, and make for soft, comfortable seating.
Tarps
You can hang a tarp over tree branches to provide temporary shelter or for extra sleeping space. Some tarps come with bug-free mesh and can be used in locations where insects are bothersome. If wind is a factor, tarps protect lighter items from blowing away.
Inflatable Bedding
Air mattresses can eliminate sleepless nights spent on hard ground.
Inflatable Boats
If fishing is your passion, an inflatable boat may be an indispensable part of your camping gear. Your kids will spend many happy hours paddling near shore with a boat at their disposal.
Life Jackets
If you'll be camping near a river or a lake, make sure to include life jackets.
